About me
I am a former data journalist and I got into web development because I wanted to learn to visualize the data I was collecting. I received a master's degree in web design that gave me a great HTML/CSS foundation and taught me what makes good design and how to do it. After my degree, I went back to journalism after the degree and designed several special project packages for my former newspaper but I still didn't feel I was as strong at programming as I wanted to be so I went to the Turing School to round out my web development skills. While there, two of my capstone apps placed in the school demo competitions. The project I am most proud of is this Colorado Governor Tracker which cleans dirty data from the Colorado Secretary of State's Office, serves it up on a Node/Express API and has a React/Redux front end.
